The 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari is a short but powerful Uganda wildlife experience that takes you deep into the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This safari is designed for travellers with limited time who still want to experience one of Africa’s most emotional and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

The journey moves from Entebbe or Kampala through Uganda’s rolling countryside into the mist-covered forests of southwestern Uganda. The highlight is a guided trek through dense rainforest to locate a habituated gorilla family and spend one hour observing their natural behaviour at close range. Along the way, you also experience scenic landscapes, local communities, and rich biodiversity.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You begin your journey early in the morning after breakfast. Your driver-guide meets you and drives you southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The route passes through towns, farmlands, and rolling hills that show Uganda’s natural beauty.

You stop at the Uganda Equator for photos and a brief break before continuing to the western region. After lunch en route, you proceed through the Kigezi highlands and arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the evening. You check in and relax as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You then enter the rainforest to begin your gorilla trek. The hike takes you through thick vegetation, steep slopes, and narrow forest paths.

Once you locate a gorilla family, you spend one hour with them. You watch them feed, groom, and interact within their group. The experience feels calm but powerful, and it remains one of the most memorable wildlife encounters in Africa.

After the trek, you return to your lodge for rest. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience or simply relax at the lodge.

Day 3: Bwindi to Entebbe/Kampala

After breakfast, you begin your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. You drive through scenic hills and rural landscapes with a stop for lunch along the way. You may also stop again at the Equator for photos and souvenirs before continuing to the airport for your departure flight.
